Code West Moving on Up! Plus Who Else is Stepping it Up This Weekend

With Hear the Ghost off Derby Trial, Code West steps up into the top 20. Another runner for Bob Baffert, the Lemon Drop Kid ridgling could go the distance. His sire won the lengthy Belmont Stakes in 1999. His full brother, Charitable Man ran 4th in the Belmont and the Travers Stakes. Code West himself hasn't won since breaking his maiden in a Maiden Special Weight. He was second in the Risen Star Stakes (Gr. II) beating Oxbow and Mylute, and sixth in the Louisiana Derby (Gr. II) where he was defeated by Revolutionary, Mylute, and Departing. He's out of Charitabledonation, a Saint Ballado mare. More blood to get him the distance. (And yet, after the preps this weekend, he's out of the top 20)

This weekends preps...
Goldencents wins over Flashback in the Santa Anita Derby moving him from 15th to 3rd on the leader board. Flashback moves from 14th to 7th.

Undefeated Verrazano takes the Wood Memorial over previously undefeated Vyjack. Verrazano moves from 9th to 2nd in ranking. He's tied with Orb in points. Vyjack remains at 6th on the leader board.
